I find these little bush delights are devils of things to find in the open, understandably though as the undergrowth is their natural patch. So, was excited to hear a family of them and waited patiently hoping one would peek out.
These guys are roughly about the size of a Thornbill (perhaps a smidge bigger). Their appearance reminds me so much of the Tas Scrubwren, with a little bit of Thornbill thrown in.

Great work Annie and no pesky branches in the way (or you have worked out how to remove them now)!

Stunning shots of a little gem, very cute, another one that had me reaching for my field guide to see where I could find one .
Thanks Reflex & Sparrow. So sorry Sparrow, I seem to regularly forget to put location, or mark an endemic, darn my brain .

Wonderful photos - classic pose in the last one, looks like he was just about to launch into flight. Thats a nice branch he found to perch on for your photos.
Oh my look how straight up that tail is ! So cute, just love the distinctive grey colour around his eyes.
I have just commented on Rick N photos of the falcon and I am so jealous at the outstanding clarity you guys are having in your photos, my goodness you can see all the feather detail on this little tiny guy's body and your backgrounds are soft not noisy .
Fabulous photos Annie thanks for sharing.

Just beautiful photos Annie, perfect to me. Love the last and the bokeh is to die for. What a georgous little bird. Thanks.
Have to agree Annie .... these are simply beautiful... your work is always so soft and lovely ( not soft as in unsharp but soft as in gentle and mellow light) and I love the inclusion of the little twigs and flowers .... you have a great ability to capture the essence of the bird in the way that you shoot ....lovely work
