Apparently it's formed short-lived feral colonies in parts of Australia and there might be some natural vagrants as it ranges down to islands directly to the north of our continent.

Ah, put the other up if you want.
Coming right up! It's from the same Bird sanctuary but I can't find anything like it in my field guide.
Another related bird. This one is not doing too well in it's native namesake (it's been persecuted by rice farmers and trapped for caged birds) though I believe there is an introduced population on Christmas Island and it remains a popular aviary bird.

No wonder I couldn't identify it.
I'm impressed! Four minutes! How do you know so much about bird identification?
Lonchura for sure so right genus,
Tricoloured Munia or Black-headed Mannikin or some hybrid.
I've just googled Black Headed Mannikin and it looks very similar. Not an Australian bird then.
Thanks Zosterops. There was another one that I was going to put up but I think it's an import as well now.

White-winged Triller, male breeding.
That's what I thought it was and have had it confirmed. I took it on Heron Island about three weeks ago.
Well done you certainly know your birds!
