These Cockatiels were in the same location as the Budgies I posted a few days ago. Not nearly as many, but still a lot more Cockatiels than I have ever seen in one place, they literally filled the exposed branches on some trees. Hope you enjoy. Regards, Richard
Wow. This is one bird I'm only used to seeing in a cage....well, along with budgies. How glorious they are in a large flock...I bet they made a racket!
Well Richard, I think we all enjoy your photos.
Do they all assemble in the same location because there is water? Or do they always hang out in large flocks? Are they coming from somewhere and going to a different spot? Please tell me, or is this a stupid question I should know the answer to?

Hi M-L, no silly questions about things you're not familiar with in my book! I'm no expert, but definitely all species seem to be flocking to the remaining waterholes at the moment, both those that need the water, and those who prey on those who need the water. Normlly Cockatiels are in small groups unless they are mating in my experience, cheers, Richard
I've succumbed to the birding bug!
