Coochiemudlo Island

We took the kids over to Coochiemudlo Island on sunday hopeing to see a few birds between swimming and eating etc, it wasn't until close to mid-day when I saw my first. some were just too far away but I did get some ok shots of a Bush Stone-curlew and Brahminy Kite

I thought exactly the same thing WD when I read the title, love it.  How lucky cassie, two birds I would dearly love to see one day, I am a little bit envious smiley  - the Curlew's eyes amazing.  And able to see a Brahminy Kite nesting too in what looks to be reasonably close/accessible spot.  I always wonder how a Bird of Preys nest stays together, weaved cleverly I expect, but they always look so haphazzard and every which way from the ground to me.  Beaut flight shots you've caught there too.

When I was born my family lived on acreage in Victoria Point and my Dad would row a wooden row boat over to Coochiemudlo Island to go fishing. We had the best of farm life and the best of beach life. This brings back some happy thoughts of my early childhood thank you.

Lovely shots of the kite Cassie. smiley Only ever seen one from a long way away myself. We used to go to Coochiemudlo when I was a kid, but haven't been back in years.
