They are so cool, I would love to see them one day! Is it your first time seeing one?
Tim, sorry for my delayed response - no, my 1st sighting was in Dec '11 in Bundaberg Qld and a number of times since
however they are 1 of those birds that I never tire of looking for
Peter
Wow thanks for sharing. Murrumba Downs is only 25mins from my place so will definately be going there this weekend for a look. If they are there, this will be a big tick for me!
Devster - there was also 1 male at Dowse Lagoon, Sandgate on 2 weeks ago and apparently has been there for some time
Peter
Thanks Peter. Looks like I will be having a look there too, if I don't find them at Murrumba Downs.
i have sorted my pics and thought that the 2 below would aid in gender identification ;-))

Hey Peter I managed to see them on the weekend. They cam ein quite close and wern't too worried about my presence. Thanks for the tip off. Met a local there as well who showed me where the swans had a nest and is going to let me know when they hatch.
yes, went to your pics, they seemed to like you more than me
Peter
I went early when they were feeding on the weed at the edge of the dam. By the time I left they were in the middle of the dam, so I was lucky ;)
