Cox Scrub on the weekend, about 50k South of Adelaide, and only the second time there so doing some exploration.
Grey Fantail city and some nice Honeyeaters also lots of Crimson Rosellas.
Supposed to house Southern Emu-wrens but no luck and maybe the fires in recent years have knocked them around.
On a previous visit saw some Elegant Parrots and Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo and one small group of Striated Thornbills so there is a nice variety of birdlife.
Not sure what the small furry thing is (scientific term again 
) but assume some type of native animal. Nest was in the tree trunk up high, hoping someone can do an ID.

The little Marsupial might be a yellow-footed antechinus, seems in range to your location.

Rick, I understand bushfires in 1983 wiped out the Southern Emu-wren population in Cox' Scrub Conservation Park. (I recall the consternation at the time). It was reintroduced in about 2001 but I don't know what its current status is in the park. Ms Woko & I didn't see any when we visited there about 2 years ago. However, I believe it is now extinct in a number of Fleurieu Peninsula locations which it once inhabited. This demonstrates the importance of habitat protection & extension if we're to save many of our birds from extinction, especially in the Mt Lofty Ranges.

WD 1# Juvenile Rufous Whistler, 2# Juvenile Crimson Rosella but not 100% about 1#
5 is a juvenile Adelaide Rosella, regarded by many as a subspecies of the Crimson Rosella, I believe.

P&K descibe it as Platycercus elegans fleurieuensis, a natural hybrid between Crimson & Yellow
so I suppose it may depend on which book you follow.
I am not really up on the scientific stuff so thanks for the info.
Have some photos of flaveolus somewhere so will dig them up for comparison.
my understanding is that:
Crimson Rosella is Platycercus elegans
Adelaide Rosella is Platycercus elegans fleurieuensis indicating a ssp of Crimson Rosella
Yellow Rosella is Platycercus elegans flaveolus another ssp of
and that reminds me that Platycercus elegans nigrescens is the ssp seen in NQ that I have seen but not yet got a pic

Is indeed Shorty, saw another one at Xmas in WA. They refer to them as a Mardo.
