Very common in SE Queensland and as a result tends not to be photographed. But I was sitting in the car the other day (on the phone actually) and old mate didn't seem to be overly concerned so I grabbed the camera off the passenger seat and took a few photographs. Cars can make a good hide.
Well done nice photos they're such a striking bird with all those subtle browns and pinks ,I have a soft spot for the "moo birds" ,another one I should take more photos of when I get the chance.
Great shots. I also have a soft spot for them, so photogenic. I think it's funny to watch them fly, a few really fast wingbeats then they seem surprised that when they stop they start to fall so they start up again. repeat, repeat, repeat
Good work Reflex. They are very striking birds with that crest and the orange eye.
I love these guys. Their courting dance can be fun to watch. :)
