I was trying out a new lens with my camera at Olympic Park in Sydney and came across this Buff-banded Rail darting out to a puddle. It appeared to be dancing in the rain as it shed the drops. Quite amusing to watch.
I'll post the sequence so you get to see the dance.
Oh wow, what an exciting experience for you Sue. Seems you have got the hang of that new lens, those photos are fantastic.

Yes Dale, I bought it after this trial. Used it on my trip down south alongside my older Tamron.
It was a treat to watch this Rail as it was not raining at the time, I think the droplets are coming off the bird.
Terrific, Sue.
Wow, lovely sequence! Great sighting (they are normally a bit shy) and well captured :-)
Thanks guys, I was in the right place at the right time. I find if you just stand quietly and wait, they seem to ignore you and I then take a step closer, wait and then another... you know the drill. It is great to see all the pattern and colour.
Fantastic sequence Sue and well captured! Looks the new lens is a winner
Thanks, Dev. Yes purchased and ready to go.
