Took my 11 year old son to Dohles Rocks on Sunday.
I let him borrow our old camera and he was hooked!
He said to me afterwards "I know why you love doing this so much!"
The first 4 shots are mine and the bottom 4 are his.
He loved the scrub Turkey shot & the 2 Pelican shots the best.
Its funny how when you first start it's the little things that get you excited

Great photos from both of you! It's great that he enjoys taking photos, I love his shot of the pelicans!
And I love your shots of the Osprey and the Kingfisher It must have been a fun day.
Nice range of birds there.
Particularly like the Heron.
Great Fathers day outing sharing interest in photography and birdlife.
Very charming photos of the sacred kingfisher.
Nice one of the brush turkey ... such an unusual looking bird.
Great stuff, Devster, & Devster jr.
Oh Brilliant Devster, both the shots and the joint photography! Beautiful eye contact from the Kingfisher and wonderful profile shot of the Turkey. It just so happens that I have a young birder/photographer of the same age, although our mutual hobbies were found in reverse with her first love of birds and photography interest influencing me to become a bit of a self confessed Berd Nird , not that I'm complaining, just wish my eyes had been opened sooner to tell the truth. Great to have such a bonding interest/hobby with your kids, and even better to see them enjoy and appreciate the natural world, particularly these days I think!

You're spot on there, Annie!
The alienation of people from the natural environment is now seriously reflected in many government decisions being made about the environment.
