Double-barred Finch

I acquired a new lens for my camera and went out this morning to see how well it does. I was lucky that this little Finch decided to come a bit closer than you would expect. This is as close as I am ever likely to get to one of these beautiful little birds.

It seems like it should be a good one, I just need some more muscle to carry it around. You would be happy with your new lens and the possibilities that go with it.  Good luck with it.

Such a cute little bird.  You are lucky to get pics like these.  I see them, but have never even got my camera up before they disappear.  Well done.

Well done Shane, what is your new lense?

Lovely bird. I'd be interested in what lens you used and how close you were when you took the shot. It looks like you were about two metres away?

Thanks Cath and Shane, The lens is an Olympus 150mm F2 and I had a 1.4x teleconverter on it, so the field of view on my camera is about 420mm. The Finch was probably about 3-4 metres away I guess and I have cropped the photo to fill the frame and also to see if it would stand up to this as far as resolution goes.
