EASTERN YELLOW ROBIN

Went for a short trek through Venman Park today, a reserve at Mt. Cotton.  Spotted these little ones on the way.  Actually, these are 2 different birds, but both, we think are the Eastern Yellow Robins.  If anyone thinks they are something else, please say so.  We just looked through our bird books and came up with this.

The sure look like eastern yellow robins to me, Karen. And fine eastern yellow robins they are, too.

Thankyou both.  Confirmation is good.  We were reasonably sure, but better to get other's opinions to be sure.

yes , both of the Eastern Yellow Robins, the second one is a female, the female is not as bright as the male, it has a bit of a dirty look (LOL) , you know what I mean.

They are photogenic, Peter, if you can get them to sit still long enough.  We got lucky with these.

Thanks M-L.  I wouldn't have been able to pick the difference as they both look so much alike, and of course, they are moving around in the wild so no time to study them.

It is indeed, Shane.  Mine wouldn't zoom that far.  I still cropped it though to bring it in even closer as I wanted all the detail I could get to help ID the bird.

I think you are going to be over the moon with the photos you will get with this camera judging by what you have shown here.

Thanks Shane.  I'll let Barry know.  Today was a good learning experience.

thanks for the lovely picture, I just used it to identify a visit to my garden of this beautiful bird.

I live  close to foothills of Blue Mountains and this is first time I have noticed it as a visitor.

It came to grab a caterpillar on a plant I had just pruned and put in the trug,  while I sat at the garden table.

Nothing goes to waste at my place !

No need to spray caterpillars at your place, barbootle!
