For some unknown reason my wife has become very wary of my choice of destination for a long week-end, short overnight stay or a holiday. So I asked her to choose where we would spend Easter in the caravan.
After a short deliberation she announced Ballina was where we would spend our Easter. Without delay I grabbed her I-Pad and pretended to search for caravan parks in Ballina and Googled "Birdwatching in Ballina NSW"....looked promising actually.
Day 1. Travel to Ballina and set up the van. Samford to Ballina is a 3 and a 1/2 hour drive and with all the recent (last couple of years) road improvements it's agreat run.
Within an hour of setting up I noticed a large Palm tree that was full of Blue-faced Honeyeaters and Rainbow Lorikeets competing for the fruit.
Nice shots. I didn't realise the Lorikeet tongues were so long.
Nice shots, I love Blue-faced Honeyeaters, unfortunately I don't see them in my part of Sydney.
Lovely bright colours ... I like the last one with lorrikeet heading down that stalk.
Nice shots there John. Especially like that Blue-faced Honeyeater.
