Eastern Rosellas

I'm pretty happy with these shots. I find I can never get close enough to get a decent photo as Eastern Rosellas seem to be quite flighty and easily disturbed, more so that the Crimson Rosella.

Anyway the photos were taken on a pretty dreary winters day after a fair time stalking these birds.

I think you've done very well.  I have not been able to get any rosella pics, as they all seem to be camera shy.  These are beautiful.

Lovely shots Bibby, the Rosellas do tend to be flighty i have quite a few shots of their backs lol.

I can relate to that, I have a pair in my garden, even just opening the door a bit, off they fly. I have been after them for weeks.

Well done Bibby, great capture.

I agree, Karen - the PHRs around home are particularly flighty if they are on the ground when I approach, but don't seem to be too bad when they are out of reach in the tree. There have been quite a few calling around the place lately which is cool.

I had a pair checking out my nestbox today smiley, quite exciting.

Oh, and nice work bibby. It would be lovely to get such iconic Aussie birds around here, but they don't seem to quite make it to Brissie (though books suggest some degree of overlap with PHR in this area).

Cheers
