Frankie & Janet are back. (some of you will remember them?)
They are the only Kings who follow me around when I'm outside, and don't fly off when I get close.
I think they are using the same tree to breed the next generation. Janet was collecting grass seeds , but at the same time she kept an eye on the trees out there in the bush behind her. Frankie only stayed for a short time, he might have been garding the nest?
There is not a lot to eat on the ground, so the two have taken to the flowering gum. Not to worry, there is plenty of food for all of them
Here is Janet in the rain, taken this morning, it was pretty dark and rainy, using my Sony SLT-A77V
and my Sony 70-400mm lens. Shutter speed 1/320 ISO 1600
Magnifique!
I struggle with this word "rain". Something about it is familiar but it's been so long now. It's like learning a new language and including words like, "Telegram" or "Dodo" or Made in Australia.

Beautiful photo .... with a glint in the eye even in those murky conditions.
