Few birds from Mid North Coast of NSW

I have just spent several weeks on Mid North Coast and this are few of the photos of birds of pray.

Nice set of shots.

The closeup of the sea eagle is a beauty - looks like were able to get quite close.

Is the second last a litle eagle?

Hi Burchan, great shots. I live on the mid north coast, could you please tell me the location of the eagles nest? I would love to see it..

While it's great that people are excited by the prospect of being able to view birds, especially raptors, breeding I'm concerned that the broadcasting of nesting birds' locations may cause a heavy influx of viewers & thereby disturb breeding. It would be a huge travesty if that were to happen. Perhaps it's more helpful to the survival of bird species to delight in the knowledge that breeding is occurring & to take joy in those sites we encounter in our birdwatching but to keep to ourselves the precise location of breeding events - unless there's a very good reason for their disclosure.

Thanks Burchan, Next time you're in the area the Kattang Peninsula at Dunbogan, Diamond Head and Indian Head are fantastic locations for raptors, esp. WBSE, Osprey, Brahminy Kite, Whistling Kite and Pergrine Falcons on the cliffs at the front of Point Perpendicular. There is also an active Osprey nest in the Port Macquarie town centre.. Woko, I can see where you're coming from, but we're not talking about the Night Parrot here. The disclosure of the location of this nest on 1 small thread within the forum is not going to turn the place into a zoo. Ill keep my distance, i promise...

Yes I agree - I have deleted the post now

Under more benign circumstances I would perhaps agree with you, Snail. However, given the rampaging of humanity up & down the environment I tend to regard most, if not all, Australian bird species as being endangered. Hence my fear of birdwatchers inundating sites where raptors are nesting. For me the cautionary principle holds sway.

Amazing shots you've got there! The pictures look so beautiful and so powerful, I love them.
