Gorgeous photo, I always have trouble with such birds, they never seem to sit still for me and end up leaving me extremely frustrated when I try to photograph them.
Beautiful shot of a lovely little bird
Lovely photo, beautiful colouring. Thanks
Lovely photo, beautiful colouring. Thanks
A very photogenic bird. Almost looks like a cross between a Willy wagtail and a Swallow.

Lovely little bird. We dont get Flame Robins here in Western Australia that I know of but we do get the Scarlet Robins. By looking at your photo is it hard to see much difference , is it just the colour that leads up to the throat that seperates them or is there more differences? Beautiful photo sparrow.

Ohhh, divine shot sparrow. Don't you love it when they're "waiting" for you, brought his own lunch by the looks too! You know, I think I've only seen Flames here about three or four times, same old Annie mistakes probably, not looking in the right spots. I wish Tas had more species of Robin, I'm sure we have room.....

Thanks everyone, the lens was my old Sigma 300f4 +1.4 T/C and it was about 50% crop, I somethimes I wonder why I bother using other lenses ,the lure of the extra reach maby but it always seem to end up back on the camera.
Yes , I used a prime in the weekend but they take a bit of getting used to...so light and easy to handle though.. the 400 5.6 that is anyway

Go Prime Even an old one is much better than most zooms. Note I said most, apparently the new 80-400 nikon is pretty good.
I do like my Nikon 80-400 , but a prime is definitely on my list in a few years. Although, I wonder if by the time I've saved for it, I'll have to have a special walking frame designed to accommodate it as well .
