I spied two Grey Fantail fledglings, or rather heard them first, high in a tree waiting & begging to be fed. Beautiful caramel colourations on the young ones, instead of the white. I thought, foolishly, that they might be a little slower than the adults, so waited patiently for them to come down & pose straight in front of me, because that would be nice . They didn't of course, and bounced around just as quickly as the adults. But another highlight of the week seeing them & observing them.
Also, some shots of some fellow regular bush birds - taken & shared for no reason other than I can't help myself , they're all such wonderful birds. Hope you enjoy!

Photo op over for now, talk to the...um... tail?
Tasmanian Scrubwren
Scarlet Robin (male) - I'm guessing a fairly young adult, doing his half best impersonation of a Fantail.
I never get tired of looking at your wonderful Bird photography & these are no exception. Their all great but ya gotta love #2 is he having a little scratch or just decided its all too much and having a bit of a kip?
Great images again.
Cheers.
Awwww... Love the grey fantail pictures!
Thanks Dennis. Have to admit, that one is my absolute fav, such a cutie and just snapped at the right time for a change . Yes, I did utilise a little make-believe for the caption . He was just cleaning the Damselfly remains from his beak I think.
Absolute cutie that one hey windshear!

Hahhahahah just noticed the Scarlet Robin one properly too. What a character.
Second could also be subtitled "Hello? Yes, this is Fantail." (making a trunk call?)
I managed to get some great Rufous Fantail pictures today (including a few of a young one hiding in the bushes).
The second shot would make a great media shot for when councils are chopping down trees in parklands.
Caption "Please don't chop down my tree I really need it"
