I wish I could help you Duckie but I have never heard of it...where is that?
Are you looking for any specific type of bird or will anything with wings do? If you do find somewhere really good please feel free to share as I am dying for somewhere new. I mainly just go to maleny or hang around the local rainforests nrear Buderim. I have seen some nice stuff in Noosa National Park too. As I say, it depends on yoru experience an dif you want something special.
Yeah I know where crystal waters is . Your map thing didn't seem to work. I can take you to see Catbirds or tell you where to go as they are plenty around the Coast, but as yet I have never seen a bellbird sorry. The closest place to you for Catbirds would be Mary Cairncross anyway... they get down low enough to see clearly in places there. Are you working during the day or are you a rampant organic vege growing hippy?? LOL :') Only joking duckie as you DO live in crystal Waters and it does have a name for that from long ago ..he he.
I thought you would have heaps of birds out at Conondale anyway to keep you happy !!!
Hi Birdie I'm an 11 year old bird photography I Have Been To Mary Cairncross Before And I Had No luck Finding any birds but bush turkeys, there are a lot of birds in Conondale but i only go birding in crystal waters because My Mum And Dad Dont have their license and its to far to walk....
Duckie, I have just retrned from a day at the Stanley River Rd near Bellthorpe and also , Witta and Mary Cairncross. I have to say now that I have done so, if you are only seeing Bush Turkeys then can I give you some advice?
Stand very still near any patch of shrubby bush, especially tangly looking lantana patches ....or basically anythng with leaf cover!!!!!
You need to stop...... listen .... and look very carefully. The whole area is simply full of twittering little birds :').
Today I took a wrong turn and stopped on the Stanley river road to do a u turn at the Stanley Plantation I think it was called, right opposite some National Park. we got out of the car to have a quick look and didn't get back in the car for two hours!!!! During that time we only moved about 20-100m from the car .We were close to the road, so there is no need for you to go taking risks at your young age and heading off into the state forest.....( definitely not recommended unless you are with your parents or another adult anyway). I saw my first Eastern Shrike Tit, first Spinebill, plus Variegated Fairy wrens, Eastern Yellow Robins, Grey SHrike thrushes, Yellow tail Black Cockatoos, BOP unidentified, White browed scrub wrens, Eastern Whipbirds, brown treecreepers, just to name a few. Do you have a field guide to learn from?
I guarantee you that around Crystal Waters there would be a similar variety. You just have to slow down and open your eyes and ears . Hope that is of some help.
So what are you complaining about then Duckie!!!??? That us a great selection just there. It is amazing up there over the range ...the best place on earth. Love the scarlet!!! We thought we may have had one the other day but couldn't confirm it. I would love to see one of those
Hi Duckie, what a great place most it be where you live!! I have never seen a Pale-headed Rosella ! Just like birdie said, the more you listen to nature, the more you will hear.Just sit , listen to the songs of the birds, and try to find them. After some time, you will find birds everywhere.
