Previous years I have not had the influx of Grey Butcherbirds in and around my house as I do now. There is a juvenile about and several adults i think, I've seen at least 3 or 4 different birds fluttering about, sitting in trees and calling. Its great, I've spent an hour photographing them this morning.
Might not be exciting for some as these are fairly common, but they are one of my favourite birds!
I'ld have to agree with you. There certainly seems to be more of them on the Northern Beaches. I even managed to find an active nest of one in downtown Dee Why!!
Good to see the natives making a come back :)
I've also noted less starlings/indian mynas here... dont want to jinx myself though!
