Hi everyone, up until now i have been using the free download photofiltre which is top shelf but i have been hearing you can do a lot more with elements 7 so i bought it. WOW back to school to learn how to use it, so far i photo shopped a few and my opinion is the free version of photofiltre still has the best results.
So know i will have to buy a book to learn how to use elements 7 to its best advantage.
Any of you using it ? any tips?

I bought PSE7 a few months ago. The online help is a good start for tutorials along with trial and error. I am a bird lover first and a photographer a very distant second, so I doubt that I'll use all the features. Very happy so far.

I use freeware called Gimp v2.6. It's very similar in someways to photoshop, though it's no where near as powerful or feature packed, but I find it allows you to do a lot more than most freeware apps.
The big caveat is that it has a steep, and sometimes painful learning curve.
