Field Guides

Just wondering what field guide folks are using . I'm currently using Graham Pizzey & Frank Knight's field guide and thought I would treat myself to a new guide before heading north in a fortnight .

cheers

I use the simpson&day birds of Australia 7th edition the most but i think the readers digest "complete book of Australian birds"is the best, its just a bit big to lug around

I use Simpson&Day, I still have a very old 4th edition. Good enough for me!

I use the Pizzey and Knight field guide as well and it is a great guide and very helpful.

Cheers, Owen.

Generally I use Pizzey & Knight 8th edition and googleimages for confirmation on ID'ing. I find the info more substantial in P&K but S&D have more aesthetically appealing illustrations.

I like my Slater field guide - it has good spreads of the underwings of BOP and ducks and is nice and small. I have several others too but tend to grab Slater first
