Good to Get Out

I have had the Brisbane Flu for the last couple of weeks and I barely left the house let alone picked up a camera.

It was so good to finally get out this weekend and explore some new spots. I was not dissapointed as I had 2 new ticks for me. The Cotton Pygmy Goose & the Northern Mallard.

I managed to get a few other nice shots of other varieties as well. Sorry it's a bit photo heavy. Hope you enjoy them.

Magnificent set of photos. Thanks for sharing. That would have been 3 ticks for me

Great group of photos Devster and not too many that's for sure.

Love the big webbed feet on the Darter. Would have been 3 new bird sightings for me as well.

Thanks Birdy and Rick. I'm interested to know what the 3 new ones for you would be. Would they be the Mallard, Cotton Pygmy Goose and the Hardhead?

Mallard, Pygmy-goose, and Brahminy Kite. We do get mallards, but I haven't seen any that look pure, so they are most probably escapees. We get hardheads fairly often. I'm in Canberra by the way.

It looks like you have found another good spot. I was watching a Kookaburra swallowing a fairly large worm last week-end and the worm would have still been alive and wriggling as it went down into the crop.

This was actually 2 spots John. 1 at Murrumba Downs where there are Darters, Cormorants, Swans and other various birds were nesting. As well as its where the CP Geese were. Then there was a place near Nudgee that had a body of water where I got the Mallard, the Kookaburra, Egret and Brahminy Kite.
