Gotcha

I have so many photos of the Musk Duck ( male) and felmale but the are all from a distance, they seem to love hanging out in the middle of the lake . Yesterday at Bibra Lake WA I manage to get one at the edge of the water. Yay !smiley

Yay, nice little duckie coming to the edge for you wink  I've never seen one of these in real life - possibly I did when living near this same lake years ago, but was not smart enough to actually appreciate birds enough back then to have a really good look crying.  Love the leathery look their beaks & wattle (? sac, skin dangly under beak thingy laugh) get, and look at that flat fanning tail, wow.  They really are a very unique yet attractive looking duck aren't they?  Great shots shoop!!

Hahaha yes RubyE I must say i was surely not going to let this beautiful beast pass by without getting absolutely every angle possible - front view, side view, back view, aerial view. They fascinate me these ducks with their PING sounding mating call, their big chin flap, the way they fan their tail up it the air and slap the water with their feet while sticking their feet out sideways like rudders  , even in this last shot he reminds me of a crayfish. cheeky you never see these ducks out of water either, kinda like Grebes ...strange.

Get shots Shoop. The 2nd last photo reminds me of a platypus.

Hehe, they're rather spectacular and unique-looking.

I agree with Donna on the platypus thing. :)
