Got these shots in Butterfly Gully last Saturday morning. They have been hanging around for a few weeks now and I had only sighted one high up in a tree previously. Couldn't believe my luck when they came to feed on the berries of a Bangalow Palm. They are a new tick for me.
Great shots Brian. Heard them when I was up at Mt Glorious six weeks ago, but they were well and truly in the high rainforest canopy. Terrific find for you!
Nice find and great photos of this often heard but not seen bird.
great catch, are they feeding on bangalow palms?
Magnificent Brian, what stunning colour of a bird I have never heard of; let alone seen
Well done
Dont take life too seriously, it never ends well

Thanks everyone, was very fortunate. There were two birds but they were never feeding at the same time though so only got single shots.
@maxhr - They were eating the berries (seeds) of the palms, they swallow them whole.
Brian
Great work - they are a fantastic looking bird
