Was up in Dubbo on the weekend and found a grey headed babbler and got a short recording of it's calls. It manages to run through 3 different calls in the short 20 seconds, and may I say I love the way they sound :)

Interesting call AMateur. Was that the bird that sound like a door shutting or something in the middle.... do they mimic other sounds? I have never seen one of them.
I am reading The Big twitch by the way at the moment, you did say you had read it didn't you? It is hilarious in parts that is for sure. The more I read about bird watching and the more involved with it I get, the more I am realising the importance of knowing their calls.
