Went to Penrith today to see the Grey Headed Lapwing that is there at the moment. The photo's are not great but im happy that I got to see the bird at all. Will be going there again tomorrow to see if I can get some better photo's of it as it was far away when I saw it.
I didn't even know this bird existed till now so thanks for sharing Tim.
Neither did I - Interesting looking bird ... thanks
Nice photos. I think I saw several Ereama birdlines reports with a double star (mega-highlight). Whats the story with this bird? Some rare Vagrant to Australia??

Yes, it is a rare vagrant from north western China. I think this is the 3rd confirmed sighting of one in Australia
Awesome. Lucky you. Is Penrith far for you?

Not too far to see such a rare vagrant, it is about a 1 hour drive.
Nice shots.
Lucky I live a couple of km from there. Certainly a beautiful species.
I wouldn't drive any further for it.
I was lucky that another photographer and I had the bird to ourselves for nearly two hours.
Easy to shoot from a car but not the best angle for my liking.
I think they're great photos! Good job :) I hope you get the shots your after :) What a beautiful bird, and what a special privilege to get to see it!
