The subject relates to a discussion with my brother-in-law, we both had similar thoughts. Wonder what the birds think when we have close-up encounters? Anway, the following are some photos of a very inquisitive Inland Thornbill, seen near Alice Springs
Aw, too cute. I remember being on a drive once in 4 wheel drives with 2 way radios and some little birds were attracted to the crackling of the radio in one car, coming right up and almost into the car. Those were the days before digital cameras though, so no pics to record the event. Also found butterflies were attracted to soap on the hands. Good old Sunlight soap.

Brisbane southside.
Love the apricot tummy. And seeing different birds to what I have here
I love those photos, it is always a surprise to me how long and fluffy those tummy feathers are.(notice the very scientificly correct language I'm using, "fluffy tummy feathers", sure there is a better word for it?)
I tried to take a photo of a Brown Thornbill this morning, too fast ! ( the Brown and Inland Thornbill are now considered to be one species)
I love the second one, great work Roger.

Hardly any better words than "fluffy tummy feathers", Araminta. I knew exactly what to look for & where.
And you're a mine of information. I didn't know brown & inland thornbills are now regarded as the one species.
