He has arrived

He turned up this morning!!

No idea where he suddenly came from? He didn’t change into breeding colours in my garden, he must have flown in. Hope he will stay? But why wouldn’t he?

I have never witnessed a more frantic welcome before. All morning at least 10 girls chased after him. It almost looked at some stage as if he had enough and was hiding in a shrub, just to catch his breath wink

. During that time the girls were attacking each other viciously. While some girls were fighting, he took off with just one of themdevil

. It was hard to follow and get a good shot, this one isn't too goodcrying. There will be more soon. Here is one I took a few minutes ago.

Perhaps the girls were getting bored of your original males and this handsome chap stirred up a bit of excitement between them...

Thanks Shorty, you are spot on, there were sparks everywhere. Those girls were on fire.

Hope the guy hangs arounddevil, could have just turned up for some action?

Had to go out this afternoon, all's quiet now, hope he hasn't succumbed and died of exhautionwink, It's a hard life for the boy blush, there are far too many girls for one guy. The other boys might benefit from it?

Great news M-L!  A bit of healthy new competition might speed the other boys up a bit too wink

You were so right Ruby, a bit of competition sometimes speeds things upblush

I didn't see the "fly in" today, but I didn't go looking either, it rained all daycrying But I spotted one of the resident males sporting a tiny blue sparcle on his cheekyes

Sorry, bad photos, wasn't going to get my camera wet, so stayed under the car port.
