I think the visuals are absolutely stunning in the trailer.. some really beautiful images of Wedge-tailed Eagles in particular, but also some other species (though probably very scientifically inaccurate in regards to how not to rehab wild birds)...

I watched this movie last night (xmas eve 2014) there is some great footage of owls and raptors. I won't spoil it except for the basic intro plotline.

The movie is directed by Russell Crowe and has a lot of top notch Aussie actors in it. Their story is about prisoners/criminals who are transferred to a minimum security prison on the land near Healsville sanctuary (which also features). One of the guys who works there (actor Hugo Weaving) convinces the prison to help in rehabilitating injured raptors after finding a wedgetail caught in a wire fence. The story is more about the prisoners general relationships and struggles but the birds are ever present and rather brilliant to watch. There is some really amazing footage of wedgies in flight, some of which I can only assume is drone footage and really nice playfull petting of baby powerful owls and others. There is a lot of love for the birds in it and it was quite moving to me.

All in all it is a good movie made especially good by the birds. Although I didn't think it was a really great movie I do recommend it. (I am quite hard to please with movies)

I will warn you though, If you are the kind who is ashamed of your emotions watch it alone. There were a few time I had to swallow big lumps in my throat and blink away damp eyes.
