Sorry these aren't the best photos but trying to sort all my Denmark photos into their rightful folders ,wasn't sure what these ones were. At first sight I thought White-browed Scrubwren but now thinking ( hoping) they might be Shy Heathwren.

but seriously, I seem to recall a recent thread on Birding-Aus (maybe) about Shy Heathwren; I believe that I can see the identifying marks of long white eyebrow, chestnut rump & white wing patch but not the chest streaking; the guide also says that they are an uncommon resident in Mallee and the plants in your pics do not look like mallee; did the local birding routes brochure suggest that they are in the area?; I then looked at Eremaea and there are no recorded sightings at the 2 Denmark, WA sites mentioned; I am almost fence sitting here but the pics are not good enough for me to suggest Shy Heathwren

Thanks Peter .... I am only down there at Denmark WA once a year ... I often see white browed-scrub wrens down there so I didn't think twice till recently sorting my photos. Oh well it will have to be placed in the mystery folder until further notice ... Happy birding.

I think it is a female White-browed Scrubwren, as it doesn't seem to me that there is any streaking on the bird's chest (Shy Heathwrens and male Scrubwrens both appear to be streaked, but it seems the female Scrubwrens aren't). Maybe streaking can be used to ID in this case? Also, there doesn't seem to be an obvious chestnut rump to the bird (but that could just be the angle).
But don't quote me, I'm just going from my field guide and Google Images!
