New bird for me taken yesterday near Cobdogla,Riverland SA. Closest in my book is Jacky Winter but doesn't have the black chest markings. Bird was a long way away so have had to crop pretty severely to get something reasonable.

White-fronted Chat.
The white fronted chat in my book (Jim Flegg) looks very different to this bird. Book bird has black cap on the head and quite different colouring.

Rick, the White-fronted Chat photo in the Jim Flegg book is an adult male, your bird is a female or perhaps a young male.
