I have been trying to find out what this bird is but with no luck.
Location is Canberra in August
Bird size about that of a Wattle bird (maybe just slightly larger)
It was eating bees in this tree
It was here for 2 days and have not seen it since?

i think it's an olive backed oriole.
A quick look at the link and further investigation i would say you are 100% correct.
