Going back though some photos from a couple of months ago I found this series of a White faced Heron landing.
I like the way he leans backwards in shot three, just as he lands, to keep balance as the feet hit the water.
I once watched Concorde taking off at Heathrow airport years ago and can't help thinking of that aircraft when I see these birds. Similar physics going on I suppose just on different scales, (photo from Google images).

Fantastic sequence to capture Rick. Love the light in these shots and the wings spread in the third to slow down for landing.
