High in a tree

Another of those old no ID pics, from Mallanganee Nature Reserve, west of Casino; pics are not very good

Hi Peter,

I just racked through the internet and my Morecombe app (much slower than flicking through a good guide...) and came up with a couple of possibilities:

1. Ground cuckoo-shrike: This seems the best fit - probably a youngish one, as the adults have pale eyes.

2. Oriental cuckoo (male): There is not clear evidence of an eye ring in these pics though.

I must say I'm only a desktop guesser though, as I've not seen either of these birds myself.

Thanks for introducing  me to new birds! smiley

One more possibility, could be a Female Common Koel ?
