I just racked through the internet and my Morecombe app (much slower than flicking through a good guide...) and came up with a couple of possibilities:
1. Ground cuckoo-shrike: This seems the best fit - probably a youngish one, as the adults have pale eyes.
2. Oriental cuckoo (male): There is not clear evidence of an eye ring in these pics though.
I must say I'm only a desktop guesser though, as I've not seen either of these birds myself.
Hi Peter,
I just racked through the internet and my Morecombe app (much slower than flicking through a good guide...) and came up with a couple of possibilities:
Thanks for introducing me to new birds!
Cheers

One more possibility, could be a Female Common Koel ?
M-L
Regent Bowerbird, female or young male.
I second Steve on regent bowerbird
Yes it definitely looks like a regent bowerbird I didn't know that they fed in the trees like that!
thanks, it is rather obvious when stated by someone else
Peter
Yep, that looks right - I was way off...
