Hi Bruce, how are you down in Portland? Anywhere close to the fires? I just heard the brigades from around here (east of Melbourne) are sending some strike teams over to help. All the best, and stay safe.

Half an hour away sounds too close for comfort to me, bruce. Stay safe! And cool!
Yes, the Australian bush has a wonderful capacity to recover, a skill learned over many, many years of evolution. However, I wonder what will happen to that capacity as global warming continues on its merry way with more frequent burning of the bush. There may well be some plants which will gradually disappear as they'll be cinderised before they're able to produce the next crop of seed. Interesting times lie ahead for the Australian environment.
Little Wattle Bird maybe.
hello Beef ,i was just looking throw a few more honey eaters and found the little wattle bird ,i think your right ,thank you,,bruce
