Honeyeater kamikaze

I was lucky enough to have the day off on Tuesday and witness 3 x pairs of New Holland Honeyeaters diving from the low branches into a deep puddle (250-300mm depth). After sneaking into a position slowly enough to not deter the birds I focussed on a spot and took bursts (hand held) when they dived. I got mostly shots of ripples and splashes but some worked out and here is a sequence of three.

Great photos Richardyes Looks like a big puddlewink Love the reflections in the first photo. The diving is a first for me, haven't seen them do this before. Thanks for posting.

In the middle shot of the sequence he was almost completely underwater (that wasn't a positive on the gender) but they were all doing it and I must say it looked like great fun.

Richard, I can't see the "middle one"?wink There are only 2 photos, as far as I can see, how can I find a middle shot?

I didn't add the middle one as it isn't much to see but I will add it tonight when I get home.

The middle shot of the sequence is now in it's rightful place. Just for you M-L.
