Since it was such a beautiful day yesterday, thought I'd take a drive out to Redcliffe. Wound up taking a stroll along humpybong creeky-whatsit.
I'm not sure if the White-Faced Heron only had one leg, or was just standing that way. It was very comfortable with me walking past it only a metre or so away though. (I needed to get past it somehow, but didn't seem to be bothered)
Definitely White-faced heron and love the Blue-faced Honeyeaters.

Lots of great photos windshear. Great variety of bird life there.
That's a beauty of the bluefaced HE.
Love the one of the ibis crowded on that tree - standing room only .
Great photos windshear. The White-faced Herons tuck their legs really high up, but then again , I have seen one with only one leg before. Did the Ibis have chicks? The huge nesting island at Coolart is a buzz with chicks, eggs and lots of mating, all going on at the same time.
I love the name of the place, "Humpybong"

Thanks guys.
M-L - Humpybong is (according to google anyway) an aboriginal word meaning "empty shelter" which seems quite appropriate for the ibis.
Re the ibis - at the time I didn't notice any chicks, just an awful lot of nesting parents (and this wasn't even all of them). In looking at the pics again, I think I can see one or two in the nest in the very middle of the picture (could just be my imagination/false perspective though).
