hi :)) anyone know what these birds are and if the are the same species - too big for a whisler too small for a female fig bird

Oriole was my thought, but I'm not familiar enough with them to say definite.

The second photo looks like a female Rufous Whistler to me, but I have not seen a female Oriole.I am not sure of the first one though.

I would have said female Rufous Whistler for both birds

I know this is an old thread, but for what it's worth, I think the first one could be a juvenile Yelloew-throated Miner. ( yellow beak, yellow eye)

The female Golden Whistler is quite plain grey/ brown, the Rufous Whistler female has streakes on her breast and throat, and a pale buff abdomen. Hope that helps , soakes?

The large reddish beak makes me think oriole. The original post said too big for a whistler.
