ID for Parrot please

I know it's probably a parrot that everyone knows, but I can't find

anything like it. Pics were taken by the side of The Federal Hwy, Lake George. Not very good quality but as I tried to get closer they  decamped.

I would say a juvenile crimson rosella. (from memory they stay this colouration until around 18 months) We just moved so I don't have access to any bird books smiley

Thank you, jfiess, that might be right as this next pic was taken at the same location.

Might be one of the parents.

No problem. I love crimsons but I don't have any photos of a juvenilesmiley

I only have 1 pic of a juvenile Crimson Rosella and my Morecombe Guide says the juvenile has olive gree back and patchy crimson and green body

your pics seem to fit both my pic and that description

Yep, juvenile Crimson Rosella. We see a few around here when it's that time.

Thanks for the help. It's confusing for amateurs like me when juveniles differ so much from adults.

Beautiful plumage, though!

That's fine David. You learn. I used to think they were different breed too but soon found out. That's why I love the bird finder here because it's so useful. Plus googling what you think it might be, tons of images come up and often they are also tagged.
