I got this pic today at Pitt Town Lagoon and need ID help
Looks like a juvenile Cuckoo to me,I'm not sure which one though.
thanks Nathan
I will now wait for a Cuckoo expert to help further
edit:
Horsfield's Bronze Cuckoo, juvenile
Nathan suggested young cuckoo
a black eye line is apparent from behind the beak to back of head
in my pics I can see a little bit of rufous in the tail and more green or bronze in lower tail base and on the wings
Peter
Hi Peter Horsefield's Bronze is my choice , unbarred, uniformly grey throat , remaining underparts dull white. Does that make me a cuckooooo or what?
See it! Hear it!

thanks Darin

I have met you so will withhold a response on the basis that I might return to Port Macquarie some time
