G'day Commish,
These guys are probably one of the most commonest birds in Sydney, but I reckon they are a really fascinating species to watch.
I particularly love it when I've got my cat out in the courtyard, and the adults bring the imm's around to show them just what to look out for when they use their panic voice.
Never taken a great deal of notice till the other day. I was watching them strip the bark off the Gum tree next door. It has been that hot here they have been sitting on the lawn with their beaks open. Yesty about 44C here in Port Pirie & about the same till about Sunday.
Lets if I got it right this time
Cheers

A rarity.. the Noisy Miner
Magpie, thanks for that, have seen them around quite a bit over the years. Always use to try & peck at my canaries years ago.
Cheers

The outstretched wings are a sure sign they are feeling the heat.
By the way, my rarity comment was tongue in cheek :P
