Hybrids in our backyard

Hi all,

we recently had two hybrids visiting our garden.

The first one we think is a GalahXCorella because of the blue eye ring.

The second one we doubt between a GalahXCockatiel or a GalahXMajor Mitchell.

Anyone who can confirm or correct us, please feel free to react!
Kind regards,
Angeline.

I'll give it a shot to post one of the photos.

I'm pretty sure that they all are corella x galah, but the pink crest on one of them is quite unusual. Thought you might want to read this post, Birdgirl has had several of these around her place and is probably the best to give opinions on this, she's probably typing a response right now!

You're so right, Amateur, I am! I agree that they are probably both galah x little corella, especially if they are together. Are they independent or still with parents? Different hybrids can look different - here are some of ours. Congrats on being another person lucky enough to see them

One that showed up the next year.
Where do you live? If you are near me (near Newcastle NSW) they could be siblings to mine!

Thank you both for responding so quickly!

We live about 25km south of Perth.

The two birds didn't visit the garden at the same time.
The first one we've only seen once (very lucky indeed) and he was amongst a bunch of Galahs.
The second one seems to be a regular visitor. Every time I have seen him coming in, he seems to be on his own. He is significantly larger than the Galahs and is behaving rather aggresively towards them. Because of his size, we were looking in a different direction than GalahXCorella... To be honest, we're still not completely convinced about the second one: why is it larger? Where does that size come from, isn't a Corella about the same size as a Galah?
Unfortunatily the two birds are adults and so we didn't have the parents with them to point it out to us.

Thanks again!
Angeline.
