I saw this one on the shres of Lake Macquarienear Booragul. There was also a purple swamhen by the waterside. thanks for identifying.

G'day Nahar. I once found one of these and thought it was a fairly rare native hen only to be promply informed it was indeed a juvenile dusky moorhen. Apparently the white feathers behind the wing are indicative of the species.

Yes to Dusky Moorhen. Beak looks normal length to me.
