Is This A Juvenile Butcher Bird?

Help needed to identify this bird:

He posed nicely for me with his kill.

I think it's a juvenile Butcher Bird ... help!

I'm fairly sure this is a male Grey Shrike-thrush and the kill is just a coincidence.Ray

I think, I'm absolutely sure, it's a Grey Shrike-thrush, got some close to my house. Nice shot, raysimula.(How did the poor skink get into a pickel?)

The skink was brought to the edge of the upturned garden table and wedged there by this bird!

I have more pics of it doing this plus some video which I will link to shortly.

Here are two video clips.

Each lets you hear one of the two calls I have heard.

The first is 3.08Mb -

The second is larger at 55.5Mb but lets you hear its other call plus watch it dealing with the skink -

Yes, I agree it looks like Ray nailed it.

Grey Shrike-Thrush with a taste for killing skinks!

BTW it did not eat it - yet. My resident magpie sat briefly right beside it this morning but preferred some stale bread I had tossed out.

The poor skink is still there ...maybe the shrike has a plan for it?

Something funny: I thought it reminded me of a cat returning to its master with a rat!

I had a pair of young shrike-thrushe fledglings around the garden last week, squarking constantly. The fledglings look strange, without tails. The parents were flying everywhere getting food for them, it looked quite exhausting.
