Night Noises

Hello everyone. Lately I have been hearing a bird(?) calling at night outside my window. It has a soft sound or maybe it is just far away. The sound sounds a bit like a tiny bell with the first two notes calling together quickly going "pa-ping" followed instantly by a single "ping". The call is repeated at short intervals, I think that it is answered by others or maybe the creature is moving. I am not 100% that it was a bird, but it had a sound like one. It is definitely a sound produced by a animal (or person, eek!) because it is to structured to be something such as the wind blowing chimes. I have looked at the calls of owls in australia and none seem to match. Maybe it is a baby owl? They seem to make funny noises.

I love hearing sounds at night and figuring out what they are. The first strange sound that I heard was the ornate burrowing frog that sounds like someone hitting an axe on a tree. Another sound I heard was a scratching inside the walls. It turned out to be a micro bat hibernating. I have no idea what this sound is, it drives me insane not knowing.
