Another one but this is a call.
Again south brisbane. Nighttime. I would call it between a hoot and a coo. First thought is an owl or tawny but doesn't sound like the recordings we've found online. Tune is a 'ding-dong' like up on the first, down on the second. "whoo-ooo". I've heard it all my life but never known what makes it.

Sounds like it could be a Southern Boobook (which is an owl).

Where in Brisbane are you? I'm in Mt Gravatt and there's a Southern Boobook that lives locally. I've seen it a few times but haven't heard him call.
Mount ommaney. Last night was the first time we had heard him here but i remember hearing the call a lot growing up out pullenvale way but that was a while ago. I've never seen them just heard.
