Wanda, don't take up my place, because I'm mostly "way off the mark" But I support you in this one, I think you are right. We have a few in the bush behind us. I often hear them, try to find them, but never have, they always get away from me.LOL ( now, someone can prove both of us wrong?)
Hi all,
I looked at the eye and the tail, and my first thought (before reading any of the follow up posts) was 'cuckoo of some sort'. Not sure that I can get much further than that though.
Maybe a Juv Fan-tailed Cuckoo. I know I may be way off the mark.

Well Araminta we will make a stand together then! :-) ha ha
I'd say it is more likely to be a juv Brush Cuckoo (square tail).

Wanda, if al is right, at least we are " half-right", (if there is such a word?)

Araminta, I was thinking the same at least we got the Cuckoo part right and juvenile. Yes I think we can be half right.

Thanks all,
I was only ever going to be half right. I didn't hear any calls and it seemed to be all alone.
Cheers
Think I created a good new word, "half right" !?
