Could it perhaps be a Scarlet Robin?
The second picture indicates white on the wings which is indicative of Scalet Robins. Also, the above photo shows the bird in a Gum Tree, which Scarlet Robins favour, whilst Rose Robins prefer dense undergrowth.
Field guide ID only (not many red robins in Townsville)but I'd go with a Rose. Head appears grey, no or very little colour on belly, small white forehead spot.
