Water bird ID please

Trying to ID this bird. None of the searches on this site comes up with it. Thought it might be a cormorant but doesn't have black legs as described. Saw this at Lilydale Lake, Victoria today.

Immature darter there Kathiemt, I saw on once at an inland lake which we stopped at after soccer. Naturally as a bird I haven't seen before was there I didn't have my camera...

Could also be a female, but my S&D shows them with a medium brown cloured top of head, but in some photos of females it is like a dark brown. I'm not really sure on this one...
You too birdie

G'daya all, I'd call it for a very wet male darter. The males are black and white where as the females are duller.

Hey there Trev, long time no see. Just wondering, I believe last time you left us with the interesting case of the moorhen and/or swan nest? Or am I mistaken?
