I couldn't get really close to this one but it was singing a very nice song, similar to the whistlers tyoe of call. It was by the sea and in the Casuarinas in the dunes at Woodgate Beach near Bundaberg
Can anyone help with an ID please?

Whistler bird in Casuarinas by the sea
Its hard to see Birdie, Female Figbird or Olive backed Oriole?
No Tassie, thanks for trying but definitely not an Oriole, I saw heaps of them this week. I'll have a look through the books but it may have to remain a mystery due to the poor quality shot . Not a fig bird as the call is completely different.

A Little Wattle Bird maybe. Ray
No definitely not a LWB....wrong call completely. SOme kind of whistler I think by the call.

Hi Birdie
Looks like it maybe a female Rufous Whistler.

Hey Ed, thanks for that . I just had a good look at the close up shot and took up the fill light a bit and it definitely looks like a F RW. It has the whistler's eye and very definite dark streaking down the breast. It was a lovely bird to hear - very vocal but shy.
